The activities here are mainly centred around farming and cattle grazing, but there is everything going on from quarying the beautiful Helidon Sandstone to hi-tech classes at the Lawes Campus of the University of Queensland.

The "Lockyer Valley" is, strictly speakling, the basin of the Lockyer River.
However,it has come to mean that area in South-East Queensland, Australia, bounded by Ipswich in the east, Toowoomba in the west, Esk to the north, and the mountains of the Mount Mistake National park to the south.
